    Other closing leads struggling?

Right. I think we're on the same side here, I'm just speaking from a higher scope. Cutting out your bias against ETLs, I am saying that the morning leadership team is responsible for handing off a somewhat manageable workload to the closing lead, leading through their own TMs of course. TMs...

    Other closing leads struggling?

The success of a closing lead is highly dependent on the morning ETLs and TLs performance during the day. My store had a closing lead and she was overwhelmed daily. ETLs were working 9-5s, handing off then leaving regardless of how the store looked. She got tired of it and quit, now all the...

    Archived APL

APL and APS paygrades are the game. I would take APL just for longevity. APSs under a lot of pressure right now.

    Archived ETL-AP position gone?

5 ETL-APs in my district, nothing about us covering APL stores or anything of that nature. Definitely a market by market basis. I don't think AP has a company-wide standard in terms of structure.

The ETLs who post the most on Twitter are the ones who get to go to LEAD.

    Archived APS Schedule Questions

My whole team gets scheduled to theft trends first, then coverage after. They have to have open availability and can't expect to work the same days and shifts each week. Sometimes we're good with just a TPS here...sometimes we need all hands on deck.

Archived ETL Pay (expectation vs potential reality)

53k is somewhat universally starting ETL pay for internal promotions, with the exception of markets like LA. They will most likely offer 53k and talk up some other aspects of the position. I was able to negotiate.

    Archived ETL Interns

There are pretty strict goals and numbers to meet when retaining interns and offering them ETL positions, so once they pass interviews it's like a 95% chance they get offered a position regardless of performance.

I wish it was like that for me! I went APBP>STL>HRBP>DTL>APD. My brain is fried from answering "tell me about a time" questions...

Had a couple more interviews with HRBP and STL today. They were back to back rapid fire interviews so I felt I wasn't as prepared even though I had decent responses for everything... We'll see how it goes!

Started my interviews the other day, it's going well! Looking like I'll be moving to another group to be an ETL-AP at a Super Target! Figured I wouldn't leave everyone in the dark.

Thanks for the offer, but I tend to over-prepare for things so I'm trying not to cram any interview guides! I've heard that there are a lot of questions regarding handling failure, challenging upward, and making good business decisions. Luckily all of that is basically the life of an APTL!

Between being a TM and a TL, 6 years.

Thanks I appreciate it! I'm exited to progress through interviews. I have some good material as the store I moved into as APTL had almost no AP culture, no results, and some pretty bad theft problems.

Hey there, I'll be going into ETL interviews shortly and I'm hoping that there are a few people on this site that might be able to share their experience with me. I'd prefer to chat through private message, so just shoot me one if you are able. Thanks!

Archived Transferring SrTL to equal or higher position

You're gonna have to fight the brand new ETL interns for the ETL spots and pray a Sr TL quits at the store you want. It's like pulling teeth.

    Archived Your STL

My STL is awesome. She came from a high risk store so she actually cares about AP. She knows Target and retail in general and knows a ton about selling. Most of the leaders in my store don't like her because our past STL was the kind that lets leader do whatever they want, but my current STL...
