    Archived Sr GSTL

So it got discussed what regular GSTLs make, what about Seniors? My old Target friend is considering it, but he also has an offer for two other companies. What's the pay like for say a city like Atlanta?

Is this the same store? If so, interview should just be a formality

    Archived GSTL Pay

You should also be considering what duties you'll be doing as GSTL. Some stores treat GSAs/GSTLs virtually the same, others its much different. I've also seen stores where the GSTL is mostly hands off and barely has to do much besides coach/evaluate, control equipment locker and occasional...

    Archived Degrees and Leadership

Its retail...as long as a degree is a requirement for in store positions Target will continue to go downhill. Now, if you're an external, I could understand it being a requirement under certain conditions, but not for internals. I remember my second job, I got hired as a key carrier and after...

    Archived flow tl=worst position ever?!?

I have a different opinion. If you've been in position for seven months, the writing is basically on the wall. Without a chance of staffing there's really no chance to make significant change in that work center. Another thing is also certain, you have less than a 1% chance of changing work...

Archived Dangling a promotion as motivation?

Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha... *cough* excuse me, I just got caught up in the proposition that this anything other than the sinister carrot dangler. Forgive me those of you TLs who are here, because there are a few good ones out there, but in general Target leadership is shit. Its almost...

Archived Target GSA vs. Walmart CSM

I'd like to know if they have a forum too. Anyone have any specific ideas? Perhaps us ex Target 'associates' can talk about 'customers' there lmao Congrats @GSAhole welcome to the team.

Archived Target GSA vs. Walmart CSM

As a CSM/CSS you will get actual TL type duties and respect, plus better pay. Yes, better pay. Say if you're in a market that pays 9.50 at Target, you'll probably get 10.90 at Walmart. If you're in a market that does 11-12, like Atlanta, then you might get 13-14, but I'm not 100% sure on that...

    Archived LODs?

Most LODs are 'too good' to hop on a register. You'll probably get 2 that will do it out of 15 at higher volume stores.

Archived applied for etl, was asked about tl...

Right...its stupid. Externals should have a college degree...and four+ years relevant experience. IMO the only way you should be a 22 year old ETL is if you got hired at Target at 16 ( virtually unheard of as is) then work the minimum 18 month period between each promotion.

    Archived Pay grades and negotiation

Despite what you'll be told, this is totally unknown. Just ask for what you feel is fair and then some as hopefully you go above what's expected and at minimum they can't negotiate to where you want to be , if not more. Trust me, I've been hired in for a position where someone working there two...

Archived interview process for etl; shadowing

Being a shadow isn't typical unless you're an intern. The shadowing would be on the job training after you're accepted. Typically you'll have the standard sit down or over the phone interview. It'll be very...robotically orchastrated

Archived ETL Forced to New Role?

I know this is old, but despite what they say, you are in a catch 22 situation. You have to perform good to move workcenters, but if you do good you are needed in that workcenter and thus can't move. You really want to switch jobs? Start sucking at it.

    Archived Losing Team Lead position?

If they are asking you to do duties outside of your role and refuse official title change and pay that's actually a violation of labor laws. Why do you think we don't see 'district managers' who have a tram member title working for 11$ an hour? Trust me someone would do it.
