The Things Guests Do/Pet Peeves Thread

Is that really so weird? I do it all the time. I have a backpack with all the stuff I'm carrying, and everything I buy just goes in the backpack. I bag meat, clothes, books, and electronics together without a second thought.

Guest say the darndest (dumbest) things

What I don't get is why some guests get so upset about it. The first thing I tell guests in this situation is that I can match it. Some still wanna be mad, even though they're paying the Target.com price in the end.

    A) No idea B) The other Electronics TMs confirmed for me that we can't park calls at all.

I don't get why my store makes Electronics operator when fitting room is on break or lunch. We really should have someone available to cover the fitting room in a full sized Target, and Electronics doesn't universally carry a Zebra and can't put calls on 2280. It's a shit show, especially if the...

I thought that was a Zebra function? Regardless, in my store they clearly don't use it.

As a bicycle commuter, I feel scummy every time I recommend a Target bike.

Yea, but you have to have a Zebra to use the Zebra. My store is down to 12 functioning Zebras and we've been told we aren't getting more because management is sick and fucking tired of us breaking them. Same with walkies. We're running low, but not getting more, because apparently that'll teach...

That 0 floor 0 back 1 on hand was a huge issue at my old store. I suspect it was largely an issue of stuff getting stolen and then researched. Then again, my old store was so high theft that this extremely likely. Sure, it could be in a guest's cart, but I was electronics, so I ought to have...

To my old store: you want us to check hundos, give us a working scanner or keep us supplied with the pens. If you don't, it's not my fault that all I can do is hold it up to the light. At least my current store understands this.

Especially for those of us in high theft stores. My old store, if it said 2 and we couldn't find it, it was extremely likely to be stolen. Doesn't matter if it was spiderwrapped or peg locked, a determined thief could get it if electronics and AP were busy or understaffed. I've had too many...

My experience is, the readers themselves are faster in continental Europe, but cashiers aren't particularly quick, at least in France and Belgium. The cashiers aren't slower than certain American chains like Safeway or Wally World, but they are noticeably not-quick.

Archived Okay, who fucked up how?

Down in the comments, Corporate apparently told the guest she returned a $7.99 jigsaw Hatchimal thing, so it sounds like the return was done under a different DPCI than the item. That'd explain the lack of an override prompt.

Person on Reddit feels screwed over recieptless return. Far down in the comment, the customer mentions talking to Bullseye on Twitter. So, from the perspective of our GSTMs, GSAs, and GSTLs, exactly what could have happened here? If the customer's telling the truth, it sounds like the team...

When I worked at a different store, I had a customer ask me a question while I was ringing up a line, and I told her I was already with a customer and I'd be with her when I could. She just yelled "YOU KNOW, IT'S A SIMPLE QUESTION!", and stormed out of the store and called Corporate. Corporate...

At the same time, there's a Corporate Starbucks near my Target, which has it's own Starbucks, and the difference is night and day. Sad to say, my Target's Starbucks team is noticably inattentive towards customers compared to the Corporate one, as well as much slower.

My favorite was the lady who whispered to me that I need deodorant 7 hours into my shift. I do use it, but at that point I'd largely been in the small, barely unventilated stockroom lifting merchandise up and down ladders. I am a pretty large person. I'm just gonna smell kind of off after hours...
