Haven't heard much about this, but how are stores functioning with the one salesfloor TL in ULV stores that are down to head count? How do you manage the entire salesfloor (hardlines, grocery, softlines)? Have you been given more hours for TMs? Hardlines brands TMs? Etc? Just curious.

It's pretty crap. Our one salesfloor TL is also on a LOA this month so that doesn't help. TMs currently don't actually get any hours for zoning. Their hours are allocated for 4x4s and pushing CAFs. We don't have any hardlines brand TMs, and one brand TM left in softlines for shoes. Shoes looks good, everything else looks pretty bad except for whatever happens to be the midday focus zone of the day. I know some of the hardlines TMs are nearing the single digit hours mark. We don't have anyone scheduled for salesfloor whatsoever until noon, no fitting room/operator until 11 AM everyday, electronics TM is usually 11 AM or noon as well unless plano is doing an overnight, then it'll be 9 AM (one of our plano guys does morning electronics coverage).

Ours used to be a GSTL. When she was a GSTL, she never worked cartwell or CL pogs to the home. Now she does the same thing with every end cap. She also doesn't fill to capacity.

We just got down to one TL officially on Sunday with a transfer, so it's really too early to tell. We always have someone in hardlines, softlines, and electronics, which is a nice change for us. Last year at this time, most of those departments didn't come in until 10am at the earliest.

Our main worry up front right now is the fact we are still at two GSTLs. And there's going to be a lot of problems if the one goes.
