Does Target require previous security experience to get hired?

Does it matter how big you are physically?

No and No.

TPS is entry level security position. It's uniformed and these days mostly at doors. You will also be able to assist in apprehensions, however not initiate them.

No, it does not matter how big you are physically. Don't think like that, that used to be my mentality. If im huge, buff and strong i'll be the king of AP. However, my old APS was like 5'2 100 pounds and going after people much bigger then her. She didn't win everything but what she had was a strong mindset and always willing to try.

I wouldn’t mind being apprehended by a petite cutie in uniform.

The problem is I left a previous Target job without giving two weeks notice because my mom became really sick. I'm wondering if I'm marked as not rehirable.

I'd go to HR and explain the situation, and be sincere. If you were a good worker and you told them that's why you left, I'm sure they'll be fine with rehiring you. Then again, depends on the HR person.

I got an interview for TPS. Will they ask the typical questions or anything specific to security?

Typical questions at first, then more directed questions like "Have you ever been trusted with confidential information?", "When was a time you had to deal with a very upset, perhaps even violent customer?", or more specifically to internals "If ____ (best friend in store) was caught stealing, would you be able to report them". Just be aware of the integrity you need for the position and you'll do well on the interview. Just be confident with your answers.

Add “have you ever been punched in the face? When was the last time you were in a fight?” To that. Probably only asked if your store is in the hood.

Oh yeah my ETL warned me of it being potentially dangerous, claiming somebody nearby got cut with a knife and whatnot, and if I was okay with the potential risks.

Had the interview Friday. Didn't go as well as I wanted. Stumbled on a couple questions.

The interviewer said she had other candidates to interview and will have final decision in a week. Is this a bad sign if you're not hired on the spot?

With target rolling into modernization, its harder to get a job. I've interviewed applicants that were excellent at interviews and even got to the 3rd (yeah my store does 3) then they were passed on the 3rd.

AP is different than normal positions. They interview a few people, compare them and call them back for another interview or a job offer. You may still be in the running.

Target from our store just want some one there to been seen as a preventive measure, where all the “real theives” know the Tps can’t do anything but let them leave and take a picture of a Licence plate and mark it as a ktr.
