I dunno if every Target is like this, but at my store, we don't do pre-orders over the phone. We do sell 'reservation cards' for some games (mostly the big name titles like the Call or Duty games) that you buy for $1, and it guarantees that we will have a copy on hold for you to pick up within a week of the release date (any reserved copies not purchased within the week are put out on the floor). Also, on a lot (if not all) of the reservation cards, you get a $5 gift card when you purchase the reserved game within the week of release (I assume the reservation cards become void after the release week, so you can't go in a month later with the reservation card and get the gift card).
