I've been working at a SuperTarget for about a year and a half, and I have been working as Food Service TM. An ETL came up to me yesterday and had asked if I wanted to apply for an open Food Assistant position. While browsing on Workbench, I saw that there is also a position named Food Service Assistant, which our store does not have. What is the difference between a Food Assistant and a Food Service Assistant?

From what I understand, Food Service Assistant is the Brand TM for Food Ave/Starbucks. Its usually only used in high volume stores with a high sales Food Aves/Starbucks. Basically do everything just like the FATL but no supervisory abilities.

Back in the day, there was a Lvl 2 Food Ave Specialist at larger stores and they were basically the backup to the FATL.

Food Service Assistant is pretty much the Food Service equivalent to a GSA or a Perishable Assistant, just a lot rarer due to the fact that their Starbucks and Food Avenue have to reach a certain amount in yearly sales.

They're supposed to be cross trained in both departments (AST and trainer certified for FA & SB), able to place orders, train, and serve as back-up to both TLs like BullSBI mentioned. Essentially their right hand man or woman who can step into their role.
