Archived Food handlers cards not required

I am curious how does target legally get around not requiring food handlers cards? When I applied at a bookstore that had a cafe they required me to get a card even though I wasnt going to be over there. Yet he our store is and almost no one has one while on the whole most of us end up dealing with food. Im so confused :/​

All of the leaders (Sr TLs, ETLs) are required to have food handler certifications, and TMs in the areas should have done the Target training module on food safety.

PA's used to have to complete food handler certification. I was taken away from work for two days andhad to drive 2 hours away to a hotel. It was actually lots of fun. Target has since changed the policy though and just required the module.

Must be by state.
My store has food handler's cards for everyone working in market & FA.
Couple of our baristas also carry food handler's cards.

I'm pretty sure it's a state by state thing.
AK requires food handler cards for anyone serving but not for baristas.

CA doesn't seem to require them, no one I know of in FA or Sbux has one

It's not required of baristas but a couple of ours do work FA quite a bit.

Oh interesting didnt realize states had such a big difference in food card requirements. I think only three people at my store have them. Must be why the etls are always so on top of food quizes when they come about thanks all ^_^

Srtl and above for us. Fa and sbux don't even have them.
