My largest question is- under Target policy, is there no bypass for the 9:45 rule? Even under state law, when working up to midnight on Sat and Sun is allowed? Also, I have a special variance. Under state law (WA) it says I can request a regular variance, and this extends (or can extend) not only the limit of hours worked (28) to greater than that, but also extends how late I can work. I don't intend on extending how late I can work, but mainly just the maximum number of hours per week. Does anyone know, as HR (in the context that if I were asking you directly), if I could request that? (and would it be a yes? what reasons could I give that would improve my chances of getting a yes?)
Don't worry, I enjoy working. I'm not wasting away too much. It gives me a purpose and some exercise.

The target policy requires minors to not be scheduled later then 945 whether states allow it or not. There are other rules but I can't remember off the top of my head. It would be hard to work that much when your in school but I'm assuming you want to know for when your on vacation from school, in which I think I've seen minors scheduled more then that but I might be wrong. Target is pretty strict with their policy on minors.

Minors can work more hours during school breaks, or holidays but they still can't work past 9:45pm.
At PH & SB we have mostly high school kids because we're closed & cleaned up by 9pm.

It wouldn't be too hard... 5 6 hour shifts from Mon-Fri and maybe a couple 6 to 8 hour shifts on Sat-Sun depending on what they need. So, it'd be more like 30 to 40 hours a week. I'm not behind on my schoolwork because I pay other people to do it lol. I kind of figured 9:45 was the limit. I also heard 7:15 AM is the earliest a minor can be scheduled in my system. I just wonder if I can work more than 28 hours per week and longer than 8 hours on a weekend/vacation week.

Don't rock the boat kid, work your schedule to the best of your ability. You have plenty of time.
I know, I know. I just like working. I haven't lost the youthful sparkle in my eyes yet and if I'm not working, about 75% of the time I'm just sitting at home with nothing to do.
