I don't understand why team members tell their etls about hours getting cut from other team members (or not getting another position in the store). What do they think they get in return? I see nothing.
I don’t see a problem either talking about hours between TMs . Only thing the leaders might not like is some one pointing out why their hours are cut but some other TMs are still getting max hours . They don’t want to explain such things to TMs .
What @Rarejem said. Just today asked my TL about the schedule just posted because one truck day has really short hours. Thought it was just me because I didn't take time to look for other TMs who push truck, but it's about half of us. Was told that hours for May are really tight.
I assure you, SDs are never happy to have fewer hours, and the last thing they are thinking about is how they can screw over their team by taking money out of their pockets.
If it were up to SDs and ETLs, we'd all have hours aplenty. The stingy hours and penny-pinching come from above store level.
The crappy part about hours cut is that it's not just your pay for that time. Hours worked/not worked affect your PTO accrual and additions to the 401k. That's real money, not "hours".
