Is it just me? I have never heard of it being called ... "calling out" ... until I started reading this forum. At my store, and everywhere else I have worked, they say ... "Calling off." Maybe it a regional thing like soda vs. pop.

BTW, it's pop. Soda is baking soda. LOL. I'll probably start a war about that.

At our store its called "calling in" or "calling in sick", as in, you called in to the store to say you are sick and wont be there.
BTW, We call the carts "shopping carts", people from the east call them "buggies"

In my neck of the woods, we say pop and calling in. I'm east of the Mississippi but quite a ways away from the Atlantic.
