We received our new shipper full of Minifigures today, and I was talking to the Signing TM about them and how once the "Lego bloggers" find out they are at Target they were gonna sell out. Literally as this conversation was occurring a guest comes up to us and then purchases all of them. 347 dollars worth.

Is this real life?

Sold all of them? Big no-no. You can limit quantity on an item with a limited stock.

It isn't a limited item as far as we know. At our store with the exception of iPads we really don't limit stock on anything. If somebody wants to buy something, we will take their money, no problem. I am pretty sure Target would prefer that we sell everything they put in the store, otherwise what is it there for?

Same here! we have however started limiting quantities to the extreme couponers that wipe out the shelves. We limit to the "normal household quantities" But we won't eve begin to talk about the couponers. ugh......

Because people are jerks, and to be honest it's better to piss off one irritating collector over dozens of guests who were hoping you would have some in stock. Legos fall under the collectable toy policy and may have limitations put on them for the sake of fairness to the rest of the shopping populace. Stores may also in general place restrictions as long as it's fairly and consistently instituted.
