Let go due to attendance, when can I reapply?

Hey all, I recently got let go in my seasonal period due to about 4 call offs (which was due to an illness and medicine changes), and was let go via email last Monday.

I explained to my ETL even over the phone that I wasn't feeling/doing well and he told me there'd be no issues.

I 100% take accountability for my call outs, but I'm doing better now and am now wondering what it will take, and if there's a waiting period to get hired at a different location. I applied to the two nearest to me today.

Any tips would be appreciated!

During this season and it being so close to you being let go, I would try to put in for additional work elsewhere. However, if you want to still work for Spot, give it time and see what happens. The skills you learned from Spot I’m sure you can use to find similar opportunities for additional retail businesses. Good luck.

Yeah im going to be realistic its probably not going to happen. Stores are going to start letting the seasonal tms go, not going to be hiring more. I would look else where if you are really in need of a job. I would say 3 months or so from now stores might be hiring. It really depends as some stores have higher turnover then others.

@MrT is right - stores aren't going to be hanging onto seasonal TMs much longer and even for permanent TMs, hours fall off a cliff in January.

Glad you're doing better now, but you'd probably be smart to look elsewhere. If working at Target is still appealing to you, reapply for next year's seasonal hiring. I initially hired into a different Target as a seasonal TM and not kept on past January. Applied to my current store the next time around and was kept; still there now.

@MrT is right also about some stores having higher turnover than others. Which could be a red flag in my eyes, because why a store has high turnover could be important. Is it because it's a university town with a higher percentage of students working there? That's a transient population and turnover will be high naturally. Or is it because the store's leadership is bad and drives TMs out the door? That's not good and reason to steer clear.

I appreciate the sentiment, means a lot! Is there a way I could talk to another store's HR to get in?
Due to legal reasons, if you apply to another Target store they cannot see the reason for termination. Some HRs text or call 1 another if it is a buddy store to ask for reason for termination but not always. Also, this shouldn't be done but it does happen.
Kudos for recognizing attendance was an issue.
I believe loss of productivity due to attendance will speed up AI integration into retail.

What if someone is marked not eligible for rehire in the system can another store see that?
