So my friend wants to work as the produce team member but I am cashier so I don't know what they do. Can you give me a description of what they do daily?

I am not sure for your friend has been hired at spot. He will get trained for the position spot picks him for.

Typical day:
Get up at the crack of dawn to do the load, cull rotten food, then fill...

Oh, wait. They cut hours. Instead of doing it in seven, you now have three hours to do it all. By yourself. Regularly lift between 40-60 pounds in 40 degree temps. By 8, have the floor done because you will be called for backups, freshness friday, and daily huddles to do other department's go backs. At some point during the day find the time to finish that load and do the order for the next load. If you're lucky, you'll eek out ten minutes to find an empty computer and make discounts/TPCs for the extra six cases of watermelons. And magically find time to clean while you're at it. If you're a closer you will be called up for every backup at the front lanes. It's amazing anyone finds Target's produce "fresh" at all.

Yeah, I'm a bit bitter.

Pros: Working independently; most people don't understand the food side.
Cons: Not nearly enough time to do what needs to get done, most people don't understand the food side.
