Hi, our wellness captain isn't doing anything in this area, and for 4th quarter, I would like to come up with some ideas to help our team be their best.
Can you share anything fun your stores have done for wellness?

healthy snacks in the breakroom instead of the usual yummy junk. different volunteer events (5k, walks, etc.). did an employee appreciation thing with lots of games. put a basketball goal out back that (mostly flow) team members play on. ordered pedometers for all the tm who signed up to pledge so many steps each day. all for the physical part. the financial part, we talked to tm during huddles about the 401k program, benefits, discounts, etc. cant remember the other parts? community maybe? guess i need to read over again lol.

We've done little things here and there. We do the healthy snacks in the break room, but recently our Store has done a lot of "Walks" Like relay for life, march of dimes and coming up "American Cancer Societies making strides against Breast Cancer" (which we actually have to have an ETL from another store come and cover our store, as we have close to 60 TM signed up). But we do a lot of those type of things for "Wellness" but also tie it into Volunteer events. We have also started a wellness group where we meet three days a week to work out together.

We used to do walks but they kept posting them a day or 2 before the event & then wondered why hardly anyone signed up ('cause we're already scheduled to WORK, idiots!).
Now they're just pushing the flu shots.

We have a dietician twice a month telling us how bad junk food is ,and then the only stuff in our breakroom : white bread and peanut butter !
She tried to make us exercise for 10 mn in thebreakroom by doing jumping jack !!! Let's no forget we had just unloaded a 2800 pieces truck ! That didn't go too well .
We are wasting 30mn each time she comes !
Wellness for me would be ,a decent paycheck so tms would not have to worry about paying bills or chasing the swap board for non existent shifts while etl stl are hqving their daily meal catered by olive garden or the steakhouse down the street ...

If they were serious about wellness, they could:
offer discounts for health club memberships & bring back the FIT rebate
have a weekly salad bar in the break room (replenished hrly)
keep healthly snacks in bowls in the break room (granola bars, nut & berry, etc)
give TMs an extra break to walk a lap around your parking lot/plaza
set up blenders in the break room & do yogurt smoothies for TMs
