    Archived New phone system

That's because when the phone auto logged someone out and then made them start at the beginning where you select your store number, they selected the wrong one.

    Archived Backstocking case freight

THIS! I read what the OP was saying and as someone having experience in softlines/A&A/Style backroom - not just backstocking but setting it up - you can NEVER use the assortment label dpci. It may be linked in the zebra to show you each dpci connected but when you backstock it, it will enter...

    Archived Quitting Process

This is a case of ASANTS then. I was on DDS myself but I was paid out in cash per HQ orders to our HR.

    Archived Quitting Process

I filled out the resignation on workday and the survey AND talked to my TL, my ETL, and HR. There's no reason for drama and it's courteous and the right thing to do. Plus it guarantees all boxes are checked with NO drama for you or your team on your final day. At the very least you SHOULD...

    Archived Last Day

So today was my last day. After 12 years it was bittersweet. I'll miss my team, some more than others... I was fortunate to be in a store with great leadership and pretty much all the problems we suffered through came from the corporate level. We weathered them fairly well, I believe...

Who recently quit at your store?

Me. Today was my last day. Bittersweet. Left for reasons not related to modernization. I'll miss my team. After 12 years they were like family. There are many parts of the new process I won't miss and I'm happy to be rid of RFID which I feel does nothing for the company...yet. But I will...

Archived Good bye etl & tl

I wouldn't mind the DBO thing if it ran like it does in corporate's "pie in the sky" daydreams.... how many of you actually get enough hours and left alone enough to actually be a proper DBO?

    Archived Ladderless Backroom???

Working on this with the folded/basic aisle of A&A in our backroom... low volume. We're pulling out all shorts and tanks and finding a way to get them out on the floor and moving down all product that's still active. I find I can do the whole "ladderless" idea with folded product but it's a...

    Archived My first paycheck?

I would assume HR. They generally handle these things. And if you don't pick up your paycheck in the time allotted they generally mail it to the address they have on file for you. That's why I tell new TMs in training to ALWAYS make sure HR has your correct address.

MEGATHREAD Hang Me (The Softlines Thread)

If you have a full time DBO in shoes and the store gives up the hours it is NOT hard to maintain or at least that's how it was for me. Problem is the company does not want to cough up the hours and our current DBO only works part time, barely 20 hrs a week in shoes. Not enough.

MEGATHREAD Hang Me (The Softlines Thread)

So, anyone using a pedometer... what's your average step count these days? Mine tends to be 20K per full shift. No wonder I'm so wiped when I get home. lol As for C9 sneakers... I haven't seen any. Of course shoes is supposed to partially reset this week and really it needs a major...

MEGATHREAD Hang Me (The Softlines Thread)

We have a dry erase board on the wall to the side of the fitting room and leadership breaks it down by the hour. You have one hour in the fitting room and one hour of fetching the reshop from the front (at the 15 and 45 mark of the hour). Sometimes you have more than one shift if you are full...

MEGATHREAD Hang Me (The Softlines Thread)

...They use the wrong hangers, the wrong sizes, and then we had one idiot putting multiple security clips on bathing suits just because it was fun. *sigh* We have maybe ONE GS person who tries to get it right and about 90% of the time she does and she gets better every time. Wish she could...

Please tell me that what happened to me today isn't the norm across Target stores

I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your mom and for what you experienced. Your HR is unbelievable. I've been where you are but with a different experience. My mother battled uterine cancer and was diagnosed at stage 4b (which is about as bad as it gets). She had a radical surgery and was in...

    Archived Sick/Vacation Hrs

What happens is this: if you request time off with vacation pay it lumps the time off request and pay request into the same loop. This makes it hard for one side or the other to approve your vacation time/pay if the other side isn't on top of things. When that happens the request tends to drop...

SO our VML found two dresses in Universal today that were from gap and it was obvious they tore the tags out of a couple of Universal items they had and glued them in. Then they returned the dresses to our store and they were accepted. It was a rather bad hack job and we were all appalled. I...

    Archived New phone system

There's accountability in my store. They know who is in each dept and they are expected to answer their calls. I believe if they don't it gets kicked back to guest services and trust me, our GE won't stand for that nonsense. At any rate, it's been going well at our store from what I can tell. :)

    Archived Jury Duty?

Our county is so big that when you get called it is "one day or one trial". So if they don't call you for a trial, after that day you're free for the next year. You have to call the night before and they'll tell you if you have to report in for jury duty. Sometimes they set you free with a...
