Yep. Saves the company over $5M per year.

How many Targets sell liquor? Quite a few. How many have a dedicated liquor store with separate entrance? <1%

Anyone who has seen how those things are made knows exactly why they make your stomach feel so bad. The first two ingredients are worse-than-Crisco oil and spray-on pan liner. Ingredient number three? Circular frozen "dough" that would work as well as a beer bottle in a bar fight.

Archived Can I work at Target and Best Buy at the same time?

It used to be really good. Almost any item (iPads, PlayStation, etc. excluded) is cost + 10% for employees. I'm not sure if it's the same still.

Archived Will returning product make me lose the gift card I got with a coupon?

Not the same thing. If you use discounts to purchase an item at $4, and then knowingly return the item without a receipt and get $5 back, you have fraudulently obtained $1. I just termed a team member for doing this on a regular basis last week.

Archived Will returning product make me lose the gift card I got with a coupon?

If you do this as a team member and are found out, you will be terminated. It's return fraud.

    Archived No more ETL HR?

I'm old enough to remember the application AP used before we switched to TCM in 2009. It was a lot like a system I used at another retailer called LPMS. Despite LPMS being very old and not very attractive, it works pretty much 100% of the time as intended with lightning speed. That other...

    Archived No more ETL HR?

Oh it definitely is. TCM is also not "built from scratch" per se. My wording definitely suggested that. However, we do spend a lot to have these programs customized and branded for us, and then we largely service them in house unless something major happens.

Archived Can a reserve deputy be an ETL-AP?

This is correct. It is not possible to be sworn law enforcement and AP. Being in the military is fine, even Military Police. There are other retailers that hire off duty cops to be their LP/Security. Maybe look into that.

    Archived No more ETL HR?

I've always felt that Target wasted a lot of money and resources on developing, deploying, and maintaining custom-built applications like myTime and TCM that could easily be done with more mainstream industry solutions.

Archived Fellow APTM's: Feeling Abandoned, Yet?

No. A lot of what you read is very location dependent. Target is a lot stricter on the directives than they used to be, but my district is still very external and internal focused. No TPS in my district is being told to stand at the door all day and pass out carts or ads.

Percentages also depend on your store metrics. Some stores that perform poorly will only see their DEOs get 3% raises

    Archived No more ETL HR?

The way this is rolling out makes me think that there was probably a great deal of input by field HR leaders as to which stores would get cut first. The lowest volume store in our district isn't losing their ETL and it likely has to do with how many major HR issues they have all the time...

    Archived No more ETL HR?

A store in my district is losing their ETL-HR. As a result, they'll only have an STL, ETL-Log, and ETL-SF/GE. They already have an APTL. They currently have about 6 or 7 TLs with three of those being seniors. Volume is about $35M and risk level is low. I think this is the direction Target is...

That comes from way up high in the Store Planning department at HQ. Your ETLs and even DTLs just get informed after they've decided to do it.

    Archived No more ETL HR?

Heard this is happening in two local stores near me, also. I'm in support of the model where most stores have APTLs and HRTLs instead of ETL-HRs and the HRBP only has a single district. AP and HR should report directly to their BPs. Higher productivity and lower costs.

Archived If you think Target's AP is going to shit...

17 isn't that insane, even if they were all AP cash/merch cases. If you think that in a store of 150-200 TMs or more there aren't at least 10% of people stealing when 30% of the public has a criminal record and about 9% have felonies, then I don't know what to tell you. I do think a positive...

Archived The End of an Era

Which recent changes are you referring to? Losing/moving Investigators sucks, but having one APBP in every district with mostly hourly AP leaders mirrors how most other retailers structure their AP departments and it works. Yeah, Target AP used to be robust and frankly pretty badass but to me it...
