Archived Target sued for death of young man.

Been hearing some rumors with more details through the grapevine, but nothing concrete yet. I've met the STL that is named in the case and know some people at that store. Heard about it back when it happened in July, sad stuff :(

Archived Anyone else doing Four by Fours?

I get all of that... but the direction we have received is every aisle every day. And sure, if miraculously we suddenly start getting all the merchandise, it could go pretty quickly. But... that isn't realistic. And then with the drive we have now for every single true out to be flexed... Yeah...

Archived Anyone else doing Four by Fours?

So we just got word last week our DTL wants us to do four by four walks of every aisle in the store every day. (Any four foot section with four or more outs, you zone, fill from secondary locations, zero counts/research/pull from back room, or mysupport if true out). I'm not really sure how...

    Archived Big changes for plano!

I was vastly amused by the DO NOT PTM direction when all of the leadership in our district is screaming about having true outs flexed 2 seconds after the guest removes the last one from the shelf....

Archived So anyone else's stores lose TMs as a result of the PS4 launch?

We didn't lose any with this... But we lost 3 ETLs at the PS3 launch! HR, HL, and GE had all hid PS3s before the launch. Cracked me up when it happened..

Archived What exactly is a PA considered ?

Congrats! I was the second of three PAs to be promoted at my store. I got a better raise from TM to PA than from PA to TL though!

    Archived Outstanding review?

Our DTL has stated TLs can't get O... if they were good enough for it they would already be an ETL. I got some Os when I was a TM, and this was before we went to % based! Those were nice merit increases :o

Archived #1 Trending on Yahoo Homepage

It was funny, same day I heard about this I was doing some gobacks in domestics and saw towels that were 'manatee grey'

    Archived Comp Shop

Not Comp Shop, but a number of weeks ago we had a group of like 8 people in our store from some other retailer looking at our signs and taking pictures until we stopped them. It was kind of funny how they missed some of the concepts, they had decided red signs indicated clearance and yellow...

    Archived Nuisance groups

Our Hot Wheel collectors are pretty nice and don't really bother anyone. The resellers in our area though.... They're always trying to come in and get electronics people to let them buy a ton of stuff with their resellers lisc. and then throwing a huge fit when we don't let them. We have a few...

Archived pFresh - What's your store like?

Flow does it at my store.... unfortunately. They have been the source of a lot of bakery overstock, regular overstock, FIFO issues, etc. over the years. When they do the pulls they frequently put all of meat jumbled together in a shopping cart, no food safety issue there! Or if the pulls are...

MEGATHREAD Signing Tips, Tricks and Quips (along with howls of despair)

Unfortunately, I think his trainer is really terrible which is part of where the problem originates. That... and he is just really slow at comprehending stuff sometimes.

    Archived So my interview

It may be that way in your area, but I have to disagree! I'm one of two PAs at my store that were promoted to TL and I know a number of other PAs from my district that have been promoted to TL. I think a lot of it may be how you handle the position, and the kind of relationship you have with...

Archived pFresh - What's your store like?

Some interesting differences here! I was a PA up until last fall and had been a PA for about 2 years at that point. We're AA volume, maybe AA+ now I forget. CTL is always scheduled under hardlines, she usually runs the truck. Our opening CTL/PA come in at 5:15, and our trucks usually come...

    Archived Pfrsh bakery table issues..

Exactly! :) That and the expiration date will be on the box and nowhere else, is what I was trying to get across as the OP mentioned breaking stock out of cases.

Archived Pfresh-Market hours 7 to 7 on the newest schedule ughh

Nope, just a high volume PFresh store. Our market area typically gets shopped pretty hard.

MEGATHREAD Signing Tips, Tricks and Quips (along with howls of despair)

I feel really bad for our signing specialist. He didn't really get proper training at the store they sent him too. I've been trying to help him out as much as I can but he just doesn't seem to be retaining things. I've found so many things where he couldn't find it and ordered it, but we had it...

Archived Pfresh-Market hours 7 to 7 on the newest schedule ughh

Wow, some of you guys have it rough! D: Our CTL's hours come out of hardlines and we have 4 team members closing in market most nights with a PA there til 8 or 9 a couple of days a week. I think our CTL does need to work on more guest focused scheduling with our PAs though.

    Archived Pfrsh bakery table issues..

As much as possible you should try to avoid breaking out casepacks for bakery. Reason being, the casepack is the only thing with the best by when frozen date on it. The individual bakery items have no date on them. This isn't a huge issue if it is broken out, it is just something to be careful...

Archived Do you get Spot Envy?

Indeed... our dairy cooler is just about as far away from the milk section as it could possibly be, and still remain in the store. Always hated doing the milk... Always had to warn people when I went to get an item for them so I wouldn't think I'd abandoned them.
