    Archived One of 17.6k victims

Seeing as I'm Canadian, I don't think I need to go over what's happened. I've been a part of my store since day one, only to escape my imminent trip to the unemployment line a month ago by being hired on with another retailer's DC. Granted, I was sad that I didn't go the distance at my store...

    Archived Closing time

Really cool video during times of sadness I guess. Just hope that Target didn't let them go for riding a flat... I guess I was lucky to get out a month ago. Though, I found myself walking in front of my now-closed store (closed about a week and a half early even) and ran into the SFT. He let...

Before we opened, someone compared the amount of cameras to a casino.

Well... at least myself and 17.6 thousand Canadian TMs will have company in the unemployment line, then.

Archived Target pulling out of Canada

Oh man. If it was possible for me to relocate to the US, I'd pick you up on that, too. Sears is supposedly extending a hand to us up here. That's very nice of... wait... aren't they not doing so hot either?

    To that one guest

TTOG: Most people are pretty grateful when I take the time to pull something from the backroom for them, but apparently having to grab a big-ass item from high up, unbox it, and quickly dispose of my cardboard so I can hold said big-ass items-that-you-might-not-even-want is enough to warrant...

Those plus any box that contains detergent. Worst. Boxes. Ever. That and the bagged-item-encased-in-styrofoam-that-it's-also-zap-strapped-then-put-in-a-box-within-a-box.

Archived Target not doing well in Canada

Never seen anyone on my store's AP team go plainclothes. They're all pretty much identifiable.

Archived Target not doing well in Canada

From what I know my store doesn't have a whole lot of AP hours, but I don't know much about that tbh. On-topic: If what I'm hearing is right, Canadian operations looks to be on the up-swing, but just a bit.

Archived issue with black friday hours scheduled

IIRC Black Friday is a "blackout" day for time off. You're expected to be available for it regardless of your availability. That's probably why you were scheduled.

Archived Does your store make you lock up your cell phones?

Mine doesn't. No one even bats an eye if someone's phone goes off during a huddle or anything. I believe my store allows people to carry their phones on the premise that its their only "timepiece," (seriously. No one seems to wear watches nowadays) but that's it.

Archived Transfer to another store or changing position in the current store.

Only if you work 3+ hours while the store is closed, and only for the time that you work while the store is closed. I basically lost my shift diff. when we moved from 4 AM to 6 AM. Could be different depending on where you live though.

I just wish they'd finally figure out the instocks problem. I'm tired of seeing a bare backwall for 1-2 weeks all while watching large quantities of stuff we already have enough of roll off the truck; None of which that would fill that backwall.

Archived Tony Fisher fired from Target Canada

http://www.cbc.ca/news/business/tony-fisher-fired-as-target-canada-president-1.2647934 I approach this with some cautious optimism. Just, please let the fact that he's a merchandiser mean that we'll finally get our instocks together up here.

And this is why, when on break, I either wear a jacket or change my shirt. If I'm carrying equipment I'll usually stow away my PDA and hide my walkie under my jacket or something. Removing my badge isn't enough. And God forbid someone snatches my phone and looks at my wallpaper during a break...

Archived Is a 1 hour Truck Unload a fair time?

We're an all-push, so we don't have backstock pallets or a scanner on the line unless we're expecting a large amount of transition product that we know isn't going to go out yet, and typically when we do, it ends up going to the back. It pretty much comes down to the one dedicated pusher we have...

Archived Is a 1 hour Truck Unload a fair time?

For us, 1 hour has always been our target time for truck unloads, which we can do on some of the mid-size trucks (Roughly 1500-1700. I've thrown a 1500 piece in about 45 minutes.) but on any given morning, if we have the right people in the right places, we can be finished in an hour and 15 with...
