Pretty sure the unpaid meals don't count towards the 50 hours - from a time stand point, you're the same as an hourly employee - I'd assume you have to technically work 52.5 hours to get your expected salary.

Just out of curiosity...what exactly what were you expecting interviewing with a large retail company?? 50 hours is pretty much the norm in any job that pays decent for exempt employees...

I don't see the conflict of interest - friends can report to friends...I don't know if it's a good idea, but there's no conflict of interest. Family or dating is a different story - but friends....I'd recommend you take your toys back to your own backyard!
