I'm Lost! Pay day... my check is going to disappear!!

You arrived late and have no clue that a reply was deleted. The IP comment was not in reference to the original post. Chill out.

Archived Best reasons you've been given for quitting...

Werd to what @stateoftarget11 said. There's really little incentive to give a flying rats ass when, if the shoe was on the other foot, Target will get rid of you at the drop of a hat. I really like the "It's nice outside" reason as it shows just how little it takes to make one realize how crappy...

Archived Taking items up to the registers for guests

One of the last ones I remember before I left was a damn car seat. The guest picked out one with a pretty damaged box which for car seats usually means they're just fine anyway. They took it all the way up front and then decided they wanted one with a nice box. I only rushed doing these because...

    Archived Quitting

It's nice to have income during college but if you don't need to work then more power to you. I worked 20 hours a week during college with 15 units per semester no sweat. Probably a bit more difficult with the wacky Target scheduling but you can adjust your availability as mentioned.

Archived Want to leave Target so badly

Sounds like you got way too emotionally invested in the whole thing. I would get annoyed and frustrated but I'd never argue or get upset, that's silly. You should know by know it's all beyond your control. We had/have a couple more competent BR Day people that can do ALL the tasks but one...

    Archived Pull/Don't Pull Starting Again

It's the whole "too many chiefs" problem which exists at many a job. All the bosses wanna boss and when they want something different it can get frustrating. I guess bowing to the highest ranking person is safe advice but I never really got any instruction from our STL. I would follow the...

Archived Want to leave Target so badly

It's easy to get stuck in a routine and stay at a job just because, but five years is a little much. I know the job search thing sucks but not as much as working at Target. I got out after eight months and I'm one of those very self-motivated, self-critical people. I felt a stupid loyalty to...

Making sales but still gutting the schedule

You're wasting your breath. Less than a year with Target and it's obvious it's just how they operate. I've been the ONLY person scheduled in the backroom on a Saturday or Sunday. It won't get any better.

Archived Backstock not asking for quantity?

Good old AST messing with noobs like no other. I usually "burn" them or fake it because I know if it's really needed someone will be asking for it. I'd rather not have a pile of backstock when they just need a few. Happened today though. Annoying. As for leaving multiple DPCIs on a pallet and...

    Archived Training...WTF

Our backroom training is pretty terrible. I was lucky to train with the best guy back there at the time and I have more than half a brain so I've been good from the get go. He couldn't certify on equipment though so I had to wait for the OG (old) lady of the BR to do that. She's still the only...

Archived Do Autofill/CAF timers continue to run when exited out of batch?

For a brief time we were teased with the idea of "dual closers" but naturally that never happened because they can't hire anyone worth a damn and now we don't have a single "dedicated closer." Weekends are the only days we would really need help with the 5PM CAFs. It would just be nice so we...

Archived I think the end is near for Target.

That's for sure. Pretty much anything I pull out of the HOME isle is pretty junky. It give the illusion of being higher end and that's why people buy it. Even at 50-70% off they're sill making a profit because this "not junk" is so cheaply made.

    Archived Disgruntled Employee

Yep. The solution is to stop caring so much because it's clear they don't. I know it's difficult when you're not that type of person. Despite meager wages I can't help but put forth maximum effort and used to feel guilty when I couldn't get this or that done or finish all of the backstock. I'm...

Archived It's getting reallly difficult to maintain the required fast, fun, friendly attitude.

Axes usually fall on the higher ups. I like being BR because I don't have to be as many Fs. Also, the fact that they can't hire anyone that stays for more than a month means plenty of hours especially because I'm the "yes man" and always cave and stay when they ask.

Target in general. Low wages, high turnover. Too much work for those of us who aren't total idiots and/or slackers.

Archived So I understand reviews are coming up again....

So these reviews aren't following anniversary dates? In other news, a fellow TM asked me last week if I had a pay increase on my last check. I usually don't pay attention so I looked and nope nada. Well I look at today's check and surprise! My pay rate is up 25 cents/hr. He was asking because...
