    Fulfillment Ops Team Leader turnover

I want to preface this by saying I DO NOT know a lot about this role. But one of the reasons that the people in this position keep struggling at my store is they have not been properly trained and are only superficially supported. Meaning the support comes like this: TEAM WE HAVE A BATCH AT 40...

    S/E TL emails

When I send my emails it really is just a quick recap of the day. Nothing lengthy just the highlights. -workload -register issues -attendance -observations and conversations -recognition. I usually do this so that the other leaders know who has gotten guest comments. But I also do it to...

    New S/E TL

The most important thing is that you take the time to get to know your team. Spend the first 30 or so days observing your team and how they interact with each other and the guests. This is gonna be helpful when you get the inevitable guest complaint. You get to know your team it's a bit...

    VM

At my store she's responsible for all the new sets and collabs. She does the overhead signing and lighting. She works closely with the signing tm and Style TLs. She's responsible for the mannequins and via moments. She also sends in the photos of the depts/sets. And lots of statuses with ETL...

    Unpaid vacation

I obviously can't speak to how your store does things but at mine we tend to give very abbreviated schedules to people coming back from loa. It makes it easier for us to get the schedule covered just in case the person returning doesn't come back when they're supposed to. We unfortunately have...

How do you keep your Birthday private from your Team?

Nope. Once we told her about it his bday hasn't been put on that calendar again. This year was year #3.

How do you keep your Birthday private from your Team?

Just go to HR and tell them to leave your name off the calendar. We did it for a team member at my store. Not bc he thinks anyone is violating his privacy but bc he is painfully shy and doesn't like attention of any kind.

    Seasonal Hire in January?

When speaking with my HR she told me that with covid they are allowed to extend seasonal thru sometime in April. The ones who were just flat out terrible we've already let go of.

COVID-19 Will Target stores be required to refuse service to non-face-covering guests?

No. Saw it in an email last week that we will not be enforcing it. They want the team member at the front to mention the mask mandate. And when the guest refuses there's some rambling bs speech about how we trust that the guest is doing what's best for their families and others blah blah blah.

    Cleaning workcenter

We started this yesterday. Our SD is adamant that the team member scheduled for cleaning is to just be cleaning. They can't even hop on for backup; the only exception being helping out occasionally with drive ups.

    BABY HARDLINES- HELP!

At my store a closer in style zones and reshops it. But as far as truck push, 1 for 1s, pricing etc. that's all GM.

    Open Video Game Exchange

If I'm remembering correctly opened video games can't be returned out right but can be exchanged for the same title on a different platform. So if she bought an Xbox one game but should've gotten PS4 we can do that. But no straight return for an opened game

Can you coach a Team Member that is not in your area?

You can and you should. With the way workday is set up you can't write up the PIP. But you can document the conversation that was had and send it out in an email to HR and that TMs leaders. It's on them what happens from there.

Can I get away with wearing these? Thoughts?

I guess it just depends on how strict your store is about following the dress code. I've been in a few stores recently where it doesn't seem to matter at all. However at my store it would absolutely not fly. We are very particular about them being solid with no holes or frays. They're cute...

    New reshop process

We aren't using U-boats for reshop, bc that's insane, but we have been using 3-tiers. On a conference call my SD had a few weeks ago it became mandatory (again) that we no longer use shopping carts. I actually kinda like it. Now I can walk away from my cart and not come back to the contents...

    Past team members coming back

I think it depends on how you left. Guy at my store was a great worker. Good attitude and worked out his notice. Store leadership contacted him to see if he'd be interested in coming back for the Cosing Lead position.

Archived Style TL: what is expected of you everyday?

Not sure if this helps you at all but here is a breakdown of my day. I come in check my email. Stores weekly and the months addendum. My ETL likes to quiz you to see if you've read them...frequently. I read up on what's new on workbench in style and my areas in particular. My store has the...

    Archived New Style TL questions

I typically stick to the interview guide but I add some stuff. For instance I make sure to tell the interviewee that they are expected to respond for backup and guest assistance calls. I also let them know that they may have to help out in other work centers. I know the guide says that but...

Archived New softlines TM- New job anxiety

So I can see that you’ve already had several shifts now since you posted but I still wanted to offer some words of encouragement. First and foremost as long as you are doing your absolute best you’re going to be fine. Its those team members who come in just lazily move about the zone that...

    Archived Wire

Yeah it's all getting a bit ridiculous. Apparently the focus going into 2019 is going to be taking guest service to the next level. Whatever the hell that means. Hopefully putting hours back into the stores so we can actually take care of guests. As it is right now I'm pulled in so many...
