    Archived SR. AP-TL

Sounds like you're thinking of TPS. TPS' can't log on to registers. APTL's certainly can. I know of a store where the APTL worked one LOD shift a week as part of their development. But it obviously isn't standard practice.

Archived Upcoming holiday hours and overtime

Some stores allow OT (as previous posters have mentioned). In addition, on weeks where there is a paid holiday (Hello Thanksgiving!), you can work up to 48 hours without it counting as OT. Weeks with the 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, etc I always work around 47.5. Those are some nice pay...

    Nope

Archived Got screwed by Target, once again.

I was in college full-time and working 40 hours a week as a Sr TPS. You sure you can't handle just working weekends while in school? I know it's not easy, but it can be nice having something to take your mind off school. And of course it's nice having money :)

    Archived Burned at work?

You're not going to get paid for time spent going to the doctor. It's not like you're trying to get the nurses to sign up for Redcards. You will get paid for missed work if you can't work with that injury, or put on light duty, but that's a different issue. Target will pay all of the medical...

Archived Compliance violation scheduled for only one break

I believe it is ultimately your own responsibility to watch out for your breaks/lunches. You are an adult, you can keep track of time, and you know the rules. If it's cutting it close, call your leader or LOD and let them know exactly when you need to take a lunch by. That said, if you were...

    Archived LOA ended!

Do you keep calling the TMS or are you calling your store? Hardlinesmaster has it right, you should go in and talk to your ETL-HR directly.

    Archived alcohol

I'm a big fan of Stella Artois Cidre. Don't get the bottles at the store if you can help it (expensive!) Find it on tap at an establishment that serves adult beverages. I like Angry and Redd's, but Stella Cidre is definitely a step above those.

Archived Does Target hire people full-time?

You probably know this TAG, but just putting it out there so other team members understand better. AP hours come from headquarters, not the store. And the hours are pre-determined at the beginning of the fiscal year, they don't fluctuate month to month according to sales. That's why AP TM's are...

Archived How does one become a TL?

Most of the other advice in this thread is valid (ignore a lot of the negative comments; you won't get a TL position being a negative individual). Talk to your TL and ETL. Tell them you are very interested in developing and promoting. Explain why, what interests you, tell them how great things...

    Archived Empty packages on MyDevices?

As far as I know, there is no way to log empty packages on a MyDevice. Hopefully one day they will add that feature. In the meantime, talk to your team (store) about the importance of logging empty packages at guest service. I also provide stickers with name, date, time, and location for the...

Archived Just Offered APTL: What's next?

You will begin training while a background check is conducted. As an internal hire for APTL, you should expect approximately 3-4 weeks of training where you travel to other stores and shadow APTLs. You'll also have at least two external training certifications to attend. NVI (Non-Violent...

Archived Perfect Attendance Should Be Rewarded.

If you go a year without calling in, they will fix the squeaky wheel on the cart pusher. You're welcome.

Archived (FLOW) How can I go full time?

Talk to your ETL and say that you are interested in being cross-trained in different areas, as you'd like to be able to pick up shifts in other work centers and work more hours. Talk to both your ETL (Logistics), and the ETL-HR. You're never going to be automatically scheduled 40 hours a week...

    Archived I'm so confused

We don't get rid of TM's for finding fun in tedious work. Now, goofing off or horseplay, that's a different story...

    Archived transferring questions

I left Target and came back (as you can see in my sig :), and I was given my old TM # back. I was also eligible to contribute to my 401k from day 1, and I was reenrolled in the pension plan, as I was grandfathered in from my first stint with Target. Yay for being a rehire.

Archived Recently accepted a job offer, but have an interview for another

If you get the museum job, see if they will let you start in 2 weeks. Then give Target your 2 week notice, work it, and leave gracefully with the window open to one day return. If you get the museum job, and they need you right away, still take it, just have a meeting with the ETL-HR and be...

Archived STL making it hard to leave.

I know we talk about ASANTS, but this is literally the first time I've read about a store where the TL's didn't get every other weekend off. I'd be saying adios too.

Archived Why are you still with spot?

I'm like you redndkhaki. I've been fortunate to have good results, in a large part to a great team/store, and at least partially due to that I'm on a promotion track. Now ask me again in a year and we will see where I'm at. I'm going to be optimistic and say things will be going very well...

Archived Time and a half question about total hours in a week

You're trying to exceed your average hours in a week on a technicality. In your original post you asked if someone can "cheat the system". Who's being greedy here? If you want more money/larger pay check due to the holiday, pick up extra shift(s). That's an honest and fair way to exceed 40...
