I don’t know about other stores, but our store more or less treats the VM as a TL. That’s a TL dating a TM.

You try dealing with some of my daily frustrations. One of my GM team members is dating our Visual Merchandiser and the SD refuses to do anything about it.

I’m not putting in my notice. These ETL’s have completely denied my shots at being an actual leader. Sure, I got the promotion, but they don’t let me say or do anything to make me stand out from other leaders at the store. You don’t even know the half of it.

I want to go out on my own terms when I actually have a new job lined up. I can’t get fired without a new job. Not only is it dumb financially, but it’d be embarrassing. Quitting and cussing out an ETL is a hell of a better story than being fired.

So who works for who? Because it sounds to me like you’re letting your TM’s control your decision making.

Honestly, I think it’s just safe to say that my role in the partying wasn’t as widely known as you guys think it is. Or maybe the new SD doesn’t have a stick up his ass and he just doesn’t care.

Our store barely has any ETL's left right now. They're all leaving en masse because of the party incident a couple of months ago. The district leaders somehow found out about it and apparently decided to start with the ETL's in terms of dishing out punishments.

Well our HR ETL also abandoned ship around the same time as our old SD, so he's a moot point.
