    Archived Job Postings

AP positions are typically filled by outside hires because that way they aren't biased against fellow team members. They need to be objective to internal theft etc. That's the theory at least.

    Archived SAP Order Help

Yeah that's what we've been doing. Our ETL HR says we'll only have to move over the people that we extend offers to, but thats still going to be like 45 folders.

    Archived SAP Order Help

So I've got a problem and need some help... I cannot find for the life of me the proper order number for the grey interview folders. The number on the folder itself brings no results. I've searched in SAP for any words that sound like it will be helpful, but of course that didn't work...

Archived How Long to Wait for Orientation?

If anyone else is having this problem at their store, be aware that as seasonal hiring happening the background checks are taking FOREVER to clear.

Word is that all of the stores closing in Michigan are attached to malls.

In Store Music needs to stay the hell away from my store. I like the quiet (when there aren't screaming children or phones dinging).

Archived Asked Not To Come In Because There Are No Hours Available

Our store usually tries cuts hours on a volunteer basis. If someone drops a shift, HR might just remove it from the schedule before someone else picks it up, or we get an announcement from the LOD on the walkie: "Team, we have about two hours left for the night and need to cut some payroll...

Archived Low Cashier hours with mytime?

Speedweaving is also only possible when the store doesn't treat you like an additional cashier. It's expected in my store that the GSA/GSTL is the first responder to backup when not assisting a guest some other way.

Archived Low Cashier hours with mytime?

I encourage my team to do this. I might be with a guest or otherwise occupied and it helps get my attention to shout out for X number of people when I'm able. Most of the cashiers don't have walkies anyway, so it's not like they can call anyhow.

Archived Low Cashier hours with mytime?

I press that button if it even remotely looks like we need help. Then I call for backup by walkie immediately after to be more specific (like how many people, and if I need help at IGS). And I cancel the call when necessary. I don't want to make people come up for nothing.

Archived Low Cashier hours with mytime?

I don't complain about a lot of things pertaining to scheduling, but lack of coverage at the front is the biggest pain in the ass. I know the sales floor is tired of responding to code, and trust me I'm tired of calling for it. I have complained to absolutely every ETL, SrTL, TL, and HRTM that...

    Archived GSA Help?

I'm at a ULV store and other than 4th quarter we never have a cart attendant. The ETLs don't love having the GSA away from the front, but sometimes I'm the only one that is physically able to get carts. I don't love it. Carts is probably my least favorite part of working the front end.

    Archived GSA Help?

I am very introverted by nature as well but being in the GSA role has helped me speak up more (at work anyway). The position kind of forces it on you in regards to getting results for the guests. If I call the sales floor in my nice voice and don't get an answer within 30 seconds I ask again a...

Archived Via Buzzfeed: You know you're a Target team member when...

I try to pay attention to who consistently comes up for backup and if we have to call too many times I try to tell them not to come and get someone else to come take a turn. Just cause so&so is closest in A Block doesn't mean they're the only one in the store that can help.

Archived low volume GSTL vs high volume GSTL?

I'm at a ULV store and I'll hop on the bandwagon about 4th quarter being easier to actually just do GSA. There are often nights now where I'm the only person up front trained to cover Food Ave break, work in photo, and get carts because of the low amount of coverage and varying limitations to...

Archived GSA questions and general know how!

We have one CO specialist that mostly does cashiering now because our STL is trying to follow the Best Practice guide that says GSAs should be doing it. I actually like it. It's quiet in there (aside from the cash counter), and I can drink my coffee while I work. I had two shifts with a CO...

Archived GSA questions and general know how!

Closing shifts for GSA and opening shifts are a little different, but the basics are getting change for TMs, backup cashiering, clearing reshop/hangers from lanes, zoning and filling end caps/trading card wall/One Spot, assisting with price checks for cashiers, speaking with angry guests (such...

    Archived swap shifts too much?

As far as I know if the shifts you're dropping are being picked up by other TMs then it shouldn't be a problem. If HR or an ETL question it just explain why you're doing it. I'd check with your TL or the GSTL and find out what's going on. It might be as simple as getting you more hours or...

    Archived Target terms you hate

Agreed. I asked a Service Desk TM earlier today QMOS some salads from Food Ave. A guest near the checklanes heard us and pulled a face before asking "What the hell is QMOS? It sounds disgusting." We laughed for the rest of the evening.

    Archived Pushing One Spot?

Our store only flexes things in by price point when we're having trouble getting something in. The ETL-GE would rather have three or four things off POG than have holes. Other than those flexed spots we're expected to keep it as zoned as possible. I usually just do it myself since my OCD...
