Hi all- New to the site but just thought I'd ask a simple question since I've heard about paygrades a bit on here. I am wondering though....I started out as backroom day TM and I am now in electronics. I had to interview for the position, might I add. Do I get a raise for the move? What do you think it is roughly if anything? Thanks y'all!

I believe electronics is either the same as BR or possibly 25 cents more which would mean a 25 cent pay cut to go to electronics potentially depending on how your store handles things.

Thanks for the answer guys....I heard from others it would be more....hopefully its not a decrease or else I might go back, haha.

Believe it or not, it is actually a drop in pay.... You are talking just a regular electronics TM, right? It is pay grade 3.... the same as a cashier or any other sales floor TM. The lowest pay grade.

Unless they've changed it, when switching to other positions you retain your pay rate. This may not apply to people who are seniors or team leads down grading to tm level.

When I left a GSA position in the front end, I lost .25/hr.
Even tho it wasn't a leader position there was a paygrade difference.

Electronics tm is actually an N07. It's definitely a raise over cashier and salesfloor. Should be a $0.50 raise from the base pay in your store (it might only be $0.25, but I think it's $0.50). Your ETL-HR or someone on your HR team would be able to give you a definitive answer about your pay. You will lose pay if you change to a lower paygrade. You shouldn't lose pay moving stores, but you might get a raise if you move to a store that has a higher starting pay.

Still waiting from HR to change my payrate.....nothing yet....if it is more, can I get retro for the time I already spent in electronics?

Ok, I think the problem is we are confused about exactly what job title you have.

Are you just a regular sales floor TM that store leadership has told you they are going to schedule you mostly in electronics?

Or are you actually filling the role that the old electronics specialists used to do?

Electronics is a higher paygrade than sales floor, even if you're not the brand TM. If the majority of one's hours are in electronics, then one should be paid as per that paygrade.

I believe they said they were backroom which is NO 7 so their pay rate should stay the same

Yes. I was trying to clear up the confusion that stateoftarget11 mentioned. Slick should be paid as an electronics TM, not a sales floor TM who happens to get scheduled in electronics sometimes.
