Anyone else find it funny that they keep paying for people outside of the company to come in and "sell" items while cutting hours so much that there are no Target employees on the floor to sell items?

Sounds similar to our "Boots" representatives-dressed in all black, etc. I don't think our Boots rep is in store 40 hours though-more like 20-25. How many other stores have a Boots rep.?

Last I heard the new city target has no plans for this to be implemented once it opens. There just isn't the space for it in the store. I haven't heard anything about this in any of the other stores in the city, though. From what I've seen so far we aren't getting the boutique shops at the city target either.

We got a Boots girl last yr.
Doesn't have full hrs, tho.

I was actually shopping at a different store today that has this. It was a suburban store outside of Chicago. I walked in the store and they had a sign (Like the Flu HQ we had out during Flu Season) that say check out the Beauty Concierge in the beauty department. I was around that department but never saw anyone. Go figure.

THIS. I was just thinking the same thing last week! I had seen like literally 4 vendors come into the TSC and sign in in the vendor log. They all grabbed PDAs and went along doing whatever it was they had to do. I was thinking to myself like wow sending people in to do stuff.

I'm in a Chicago suburbs store and we have a Boots rep who comes in on weekends (used to be a lot more) and have also just gotten a beauty advisor (in addition to our Cosmetics Brand tm). I have yet to see the beauty advisor though, probably due to my schedule (Plano).

Yes. But I sure wouldn't use the word "funny." I'd use the word pathetic or clueless.

They couldn't wait to kill off all the "specialist" positions so they could bring in "specialists" from outside the store.

Target isn't sure what it wants to be anymore. The only thing it is sure of is that it has no loyalty to it's TMs & they will continue to think up new ways to make a profit at their suffering TM's expense.

I thought the Beauty Concierge program was just to have the touchscreen displays in DB that helped people select makeup - and that the Beauty Advisor stores would have the person? I could be way wrong, but there were some Beauty Advisor things in the Destination Beauty packets.
