Calling off during the 90 day period, what can I expect?

Hey all, new to this forum.

I got a job a month ago as an Inbound/GM TM, and I am not going to lie my attendance has been iffy and I'm worried about my position.

So, when I was hired on, they placed me for a 5-130 shift per day, which I actually enjoy because I get off earlier.

My first week, I got the flu, I used the MyTime app to submit the call offs and when I got back after those two days, I talked to my direct TL and he said not to worry, things happen, and didn't even expect a Drs. note.

Well I worked the next couple of weeks with no issues, but honestly, the last 3 days has been nothing but terrible for my older sister (who struggles with health issues) and I called off twice again to take care of her. But I think I made it worse, because my SD called my yesterday night, and asked "Are you able to come in tomorrow" and I didn't give a definitive answer but he put me on for 7-130 today.

Listen, I know I might catch flack (Which I deserve) but I'm not sure what's going to happen next, I have access to MyTime, Workday, etc. And didn't get a call from the SD today. When he called yesterday he asked if I was okay, and I told him the family situation, and that it'll be resolving shortly, he said attendance hadn't been great, and I'd need to "bounce back".

I'm prepared for whatever at this point. I'm in college and I need this job, but these unforseen things have taken me out of the loop, and at my past job usually people are understanding so I'm not sure

Welcome! Sorry to say, but you appear to be on very thin ice if your attendance doesn’t improve immediately. The fact that the SD called to ask about your situation may be a sign that they are going to give you a last chance, please don’t waste it. My fingers are crossed that you worked that 7-1:30 shift today, if not, I hope that shift wasn’t your last chance. As you probably know, in your first 90 days you can be terminated for anything, and when your SD told you to “bounce back” that’s something you need to do ASAP. Your SD sounds a lot more understanding than most, to be honest, probationary TMs at my store have been termed for less. Good luck, hope it works out well for you.

I won't lie, I didn't work today either, is it better to just even go in at this point tomorrow? Or should I just silently quit

Do you actually want the job then go to work. If you dont call the store director or HR and say im sorry but Im not able to continue working here. Silent quitting shouldn't be the answer especially if they are giving you am opportunity to improve. They'll understand and atleast have an opportunity to replace your shifts. Should show the same respect back that you get. If they were not respectful to you id understand not showing up anymore, but that doesnt seem to be the case. Again if you want the job go in, if they ask just say sorry I will be here for my shifts going forward. If they dont say anything put your head down and show up to work.
