Archived Cashier needing help with Checks

Hi everyone I’m a new cashier . I was wondering where I put checks and what to do with checks once I receive them from the guest. I had s lady pay with a check today and asked for help but the lady didn’t explain exactly what to do so any help would be appreciated . Thanks everyone !

If your trainer didn't cover that, then you need to talk to your GSA/TLs.

So you know how the register opens after you run the check in the machine just put them under the money holder in the register

PLEASE get with your GSTL for more training as running checks wrong can result in guests leaving with free stuff.

Agreed. Any time your training is lacking, you need to talk to your TL.

Reach out to the GSTL or GSA next shift. Running checks contains some privileged info and sometimes will require special handling depending on prompts.

Be sure to check id and that info matches. Check fraud is rare, but it happens.

Definitely a good idea to speak with your GSTL. If, however, they are unavailable, go to an Electronics TM and have them show you the process. They are all cashier trained and have excellent fraud detection skills. Good luck!!

We’re told to tell guests that itll come from their account within 1-3 business days.
