Heyo,
Here is my situation I've been with spot for about 2 months almost (60 Days) and Well I was hired for Electronics (1-2 shifts of Electronics a week and sometimes none) but primarily do Cashier and very rarely Sales Floor shifts (mainly only call-ins) when I'm needed those are all my 3 trained workcenters. I have of for awhile started to think Cashiering isn't for me mainly because I'm an Introvert and now that cashier shifts are being really stacked on I feel overwhelmed.
Like someone else on here in another thread about Introverts in retail I can be extrovert but it tires me out alot quicker, I do however not have a problem with helping guests find things and talking to them but at the front lanes its too much in too little time and honestly my feet like moving around lol and I'm a quiet person and only tend to tell/ask the guests things that they may require and red cards and I can't really do small talk and "engage" actively with the guests. One on one with the guests in Electronics or other areas I'm happy and bright and help them quite well and I have time to "recharge" after helping them so to speak. I'm afraid that this Introversion may come across as rudeness or something toward the guest and that's when I realized I may not be a good fit for front lanes. I provide good customer service but at a one on one tempo. My red card count isn't great either and I ask but still go dry most weeks
Now I've been watching the open positions recently on the board and saw a "Backroom Day TM" position that has been up there for a month or more and I've been wondering if I could Transfer or apply within for that and just do primarily Backroom or Backroom/Electronics etc or just be moved off cashiering cause I'm very happy to help anywhere else in the store.
What would be the process of who to talk to/do for this kind of thing? If I have any more questions I'll ask as I reply
Thanks for answering TBR 🙂
