So I got a job offer from Target. I just consented to a background check sometime this week, maybe Tuesday or Wednesday. When I spoke to HR that day she told me to come in for orientation next Friday. Yesterday morning, I got an email saying mark your calendar for orientation which is Friday at 11am. Now this morning, I get a rejection email. I am so confused. In the beginning, I had a problem consenting to the background check. HR finally found that issue was me having to different applications pending, and I think my last name was spelled wrong on one of them. Is it possible that the rejection email is for the other pending application? I don't know what to think. I don't have any convictions, but I am currently on First Offender probation. But my lawyer did tell me it is not a conviction, and that I should always check "no" when I am asked if I have been convicted which I did.
