expiration report non perishable food expires 12/16 this year..system told me to destroy….I destroyed the product in the system but donated the product…..will I get fired for doing this?

No. we are told to always put “unfit for shelf “ that way it will come up donate. You want your numbers for donate to be high hardly ever hit destroy.

Be very careful doing that. If the mgmt are assholes they will use anything to get you shit canned. It's an admirable thing to do, helping others with whatever you can give them but there are shit heads on board who will Schadenfreude you.

I was surprised they were set up for destroy…is that a mistake on whoever decides this? Btw they are already loaded on the truck to food bank…

They like me there😇does that count?

I always put "destroy" items aside for our receiver to review. (That's the TM at my store who preps the donations.) Things like feminine care (that don't get tagged as "salvage") and bandaids often get marked as destroy or toss, but a women's shelter in my area will take the fem care products and we'll use the odd box of bandaids in our first aid kits.

This is the way.

If I feel it could be donated, but the system tells me to destroy it, I leave it for the Receivers to jump through the hoops they need to get it where it's needed.
