I asked my ETL about it and she said she would have to talk to my TL about it - what does this mean?

It means talk to your TL about it, also talk to ETL HR.

Thank you! it was my ETL HR who said that and she said SHE would talk to the TL - but didn't ask for dates or anything - so what is there to talk about? can they say no?

Yes they can say no, but they won’t if it’s just for a semester and you come back for busy season of Q4. Follow up with ETL every so often just to make sure it gets keyed in. You will have to call store and Pay and Benefits team 3 weeks before you want to come back to let them know to reactivate you in the system.

ASANTS.... my store has no problem approving all educational loa, however when the semester ends you are expected to return back. There is no one size fits all answer, every store and situation is different. I know at my store we provide our HR with school schedules and she will grant our LOA based on those dates.
