Someone told me dropping POG fills can affect autofills and accumulator. I can see how it'll affect the accumulator if the capacity is off and is backstocked, but wouldn't manual CAFs essentially do the same thing?

Will dropping manual CAFs instead of POG fills really affect the outcome of autofills? Because Target's new rollout plan hasn't really helped decrease the size of our store's autofills (still averages at 12-16 hrs a night).

Manual CAFs specifically pull things that have been sold, which is of course what autofills eventually also do. Drop manuals throughout the day to fill the floor throughout the day and reduce the size of your autos.

POG fills just pull what you tell it to off of a certain POG. Out of those, some could have been sold and would've dropped in your autos (so pulling x items in a POG means your autos will be x items smaller.) But it will also almost definitely pull stuff that hasn't sold or hasn't sold enough to hit the replenishment threshold and would not have have dropped in the autos anyways.

If your goal is to gradually replenish stuff that's low on the floor over a certain dept (or to reduce the size of your autos) then drop manuals. If you need to fill a specific POG, drop POG fills. Dropping POG fills to reduce autos is much less productive, as odds are a lot of the stuff you'll be pulling wouldn't have been pulled in the autos anyways.

Thanks! That was very helpful! Each morning, TLs drop POG fills for almost every aisle in their dept. Essentially, it seems like dropping manuals would benefit them more than the POG fills. Plus it would surely help out the night crew.
