Archived Entertainment Team Member?

Breathing some life into this thread since there isn't a dedicated section for Entertainment on here, that I can see, and because Entertainment Team Members are a dying breed.

Did anyone else notice that this week's D12 New Release POG is a duplicate of the first section of the A to Z Browser (Christian/Gospel)?

Also, since I started this thread quite some time ago I now have a new ETL. Just like my previous one, they have no idea what I do and sometimes I don't think they know that they are my direct ETL.

We have hardly any CDs now. I think it's just limited to a couple of endcaps.

Well, after 7 years working as the Entertainment Specialist finally stepping down. ETLs told me it's either staying Entertainment and "trying" to give me hours somewhere else or work in Electronics full time. Can't work both Entertainment and Electronics because of some bs reason saying company doesn't want people working two different work centers.

Our electronics does entertainment as well. They own ALL of F block besides the luggage at the end.

I've worked for Target approximately 9 or so years. I've been in Electronics the whole time. I became the Entertainment Specialist after a year, which eventually transitioned into Entertainment Team Member. I do all the revisions, sales planners, and street dates for the area. When I have extra time I will even do some of the POGs, but usually the planogram team will take care of those.

My question is for stores without a dedicated team member for this area, because it seems to be quite a few, who does the revisions and street dates and what does that area in general look like? I'm pretty sure if I wasn't over there, it would never get zoned and make way less money than it does now.
I am on the pog team, but I do mmb every Monday/Tuesday. I do all the electronics pogs after mmb is done.

Same here, I think. Electronics owns electronics plus books, CDs, movies, movie & TV-related collectibles, etc. Not sure how that will change after remodel.

Well, with our remodel they kind of tossed me back into ENT to handling the department again, curses!!! Will never be free of that area, not because hate it just dislike how none of the Electronics members are so lazy and won't even help with a simple pick up when i'm not there. Aside from doing ENT again got forced into stocking Playground.

A POG team member still does the entertainment revisions at my store. After the remodel It's going to fall on the electronics team member. But with entertainment shrinking to about a third of It's current size it shouldn't be too terrible.

I hope.

It's me. Original poster. Still doing entertainment after 11 years but not for much longer. Still the only person that zones it. Even front end caps you can clearly see from the main aisle. Pogs are only heavy every once in a while instead of every other week. I still don't understand why we carry so many damn books. I want the next gen remodel that entertainment is only like 4 aisles and that's it.

The company is moving to scan based trading with entertainment in the future. Similar to American greetings with gift cards. Not sure when the roll out is company wide, but it was piloted in several stores.

It sucks because nothing in entertainment will have POG locations, so good luck finding the non-new release movies. Also, since the vendor is responsible for resupply, we can’t tell guests when we’ll get more of “x movie” in. I’m also not sure how this is gonna affect target exclusive steel book movies and such.

Then we can pull a Walmart and say we don't know and that the vendor puts it out and only comes in certain days.

Also Blackhawk doesn't do shit with our gift cards. I set the pogs and I stock it. They come in once every 3 months and I tell them the pogs have been set and where they can find additional cards if they need to put some out. I refuse to do the checklanes. Those pogs are also jacked.

Blackhawk does suck. I haven’t seen the vender in my store. Ever. It’s possible he or she could’ve come when I wasn’t there, but it always looks the same.

I think we should definitely get rid of CDs, but we do surprisingly well at my store in movies. Especially kids movies. It’s disappointing to see Target going with a vendor, but it does make sense business-wise.

We have SBT vendors. POGs will still have locations. Whether things go as smooth during new releases will depend if your vendor is competant enough. Ours suck unfortunately. Her backroom is disorganized and finding certain items can be hard when 40% of the stuff is not located in the back.

Plano still sets new releases, vendor is just there to fill in any empty spots. Kind of useless to honest.
