You all may be right, I can only comment on the Field Projects I've seen in the pipe on the SFT side of things.

Good-bye Kindles. It should be good-bye e-readers...we don't sell many anywho.

Yeah anyways! I remember long before I worked here Target carried JUST the Sony E-reader and it did not sell whatsoever. Then they stopped carrying it, and of course it was just the kindles for the longest time, which DO sell for obvious reasons. Even though we have OTHER e-readers again, they do not sell whatsoever!

The Electronics TL told us about this a few days ago, but said it was only the Kindle Touch going away. Since we don't sell all that many of those, it didn't seem like a big deal. Are ALL Kindles being removed? If so, say goodbye to several thousand each month, and AAR in the tank.

It's all Amazon stuff, and you are correct, this is going to KILL AAR, although it may not to be too bad as long as they remove E-readers as counting for AAR.

OK, if I'm getting this right, I think people are getting misinformed some. There is a project coming down the pipe for SFTs that we are to remove the Amazon Kindle DEDICATED display case and end up combining select models into the STANDARD e-reader display case. Essentially, Target is consolidating their selection, but we should still be carrying some of the Kindle models going forward.

Nope, I was told by my ETL, and then I also saw the email that went out to our STL, Amazon stuff is going bye bye.

The message I got was that Target will absolutely cease carrying Kindles. Dumb, dumb move by Target.

Same here, and I whole heartedly concur!

Now if you excuse me, I am going to go buy a Kindle Touch so I can use my discount to get one before we run out! lol

When I first read this I thought it would be something Call Of Duty Related since the reveal is next week for something we dont know about.. *shrugs shoulders*

There are target reserve cards spotted that show a release date of 11/13/12 for Black Ops 2

Although I know this will most likely be the release date (looking at CoD's history) -- the Target preorder cards aren't always accurate (see: Borderlands 2).

As for the Kindle, it is definitely because Amazon is a direct competitor. Does anyone remember the message board during Q4 that said we should make sure team members aren't telling guests to try other stores, especially Amazon.com? Target seems to have an internal war with Amazon, which they would/will lose.
