Hey guys! I'm a new hire at a Target in California, I'm starting as a cashier. My orientation is next week and I'm ready to start, any tips about working as a cashier/orientation/this forum? I can't wait to meet everybody and become an active member. And of course a paycheck!

Greetings and salutations.

Welcome to The Break Room.

For the love of God, please bring two forms of valid identification to your orientation. Drivers License/State Issued ID (not expired) and Social Security card are the most common forms. Valid passport would also suffice. Do that, and you'll be fine =)

Welcome!

Thanks for the advice, done! Orientation was fine, a bit long and boring but it was all good. I get my schedule for training next week, I'm somewhat nervous and somewhat excited.

Welcome! You'll do fine, cashiering is a breeze after you get used to it!
Just remember:
-Accuracy over speed,
-don't let yourself feel overwhelmed during a rush,
-and your GSTL has seen (and can fix) any mistake you could possibly make, so don't worry about messing anything up :)
