High volume stores are crazy! I know a lot of things we post about on here are ASANTS (all stores are not the same), but it never really clicked until I spent some time working in a busy AA+ volume store. I've been picking up shifts at one for OT for the past few weeks, not because they had anything catastrophic happen, but just because they're really busy and understaffed.

Some of the insanity I've witnessed:
- Select TMs and all TLs working 48+ hrs per week
- 3pm CAFs with 9+ hour pull times (and nobody seems concerned about it)
- So many POG and salesplanner issues (set but not tied, wrong labels, wrong aisles, etc)
- So much shit in the backroom! I don't know how they can tell what's push and what's not
- Unload line has a fork built in to allow for unloading two trucks at once
- Every working checkout open plus 3 GSTMs
- Always 10+ carts of reshop piled up next to guest services
- Getting stopped by guests every 10 seconds while I'm on the salesfloor
- Two balers in the backroom. Although most dayside TMs seemed to prefer piling trash and cardboard in front of the balers

I have a new appreciation for those of you who work in stores that are this busy! I don't know how you do it...

Sounds pretty par for the course to me. Perhaps not quite as extreme.

@SFSFun You basically described my store even though we're only A+ volume.

The last couple weeks because super freaky BTC. We've only made it because my TL scheduled extra heavy for peak week.

For us, the POGs are tied but not set because of clearance and unnecessary flexing of merchandise that nobody wants. Things have been weird with plano since they moved to 4AM.

Magnetic clips? On dayside, we make sure every vehicle is labeled so we know what's what.

Yep, and we have the extra sets of stretchable rollers for the occasional double.

- Every working checkout open plus 3 GSTMs

Q4, BTC, and Canadian holidays.

- Always 10+ carts of reshop piled up next to guest services

Our guests are messy shoppers. The far lanes are always filled with unworked re-shop carts.

- Getting stopped by guests every 10 seconds while I'm on the salesfloor

This. Even when I'm on break or lunch.

All of this..

I actually found a salesplanner that was set but not tied. I asked the STL and she just said "oh yeah that happens sometimes."

They had a ton of clips everywhere but I was more thinking of the random pallets of freight and repacks. Is it push? Backstock? Transition? Price change?

Pallets can be labeled but differently. We tend to use sheets of paper we tuck in the shrink-wrap that tell what they are. So things look random but once you recognize the language nothing is random.

I don't think I would survive in a super high volume store so my hats off to the people that do. I've worked in a low volume store and I currently work in a ULV store now and when we do get busy on weekends it's gets chaotic very fast that I just wanna clock out and run away lol
