Me and other tm's were wondering.. Why would they get rid of trained seasonal employees just to turn around a few weeks later and run a hiring open house? Saw a post at my store today.

In my experience, that just means leadership thought most of the seasonal hires performed too poorly to keep on. You have to realize during seasonal periods we NEED people and so most stores tend to be much less selective in their interview. This time of year, if you were holding a hiring event you'd likely interview many and only pick the top talent, those are the people you intend on keeping. Putting up with poor performance for a few months is a whole different story from taking someone for a full position.

Makes sense we all just thought it was odd that they got rid of so many seasonal and only kept me and one other just to hold another hiring event but it does make sense thanks!!

Way to go GlitterBerries! Retail business is quite a peculiar character compared some of the other industries I've been in.
