How many hours per day can I work in Illinois as a Cashier?

Just curious or where can I find the answer?

After doing a quick search on google... They have no limit to how many hours you can work in a day but your employer must give you at least an entire 24 hours off every week.

Your scheduled hours are based on sales & business needs. Spot tries to stay within a schedule shift 8 hours or less per day.

and if you are picking up extra hours they will not want to approve anything that puts you into overtime. It looks like in Illinois overtime is based on 40 hrs per week not anything specific per day.
