Archived How many people in bulk?

Usually we have one . Here lately none. Our etl Log has been doing what ( little) gets done

Work bulk? You mean with the 3 BR TM's who can't move because of truck push, tubs and flats full of everyone else stuff, and no time to do the job correctly any longer? We do it in phases pretty much, and not like it should be. It's normally 1-3 of us who 'complete' it.

We are lucky if they even have two of us total in the backroom period. Mytime...is quite the pain. You tell the etls and they blow you off

We have one flow team member that is responsible for pushing all bulk and non con. He is also responsible for unloading pfresh and backstocking everything in receiving and keeping it brand. He has 4 hours a day to do it but it's good that it doesn't come from BR hours

combo of a couple of us. 1 guy doing the truck freight bs and 1 guy doing the blackline. Neither one takes much time for either.

First post for this long time lurker...
We are an overnight store and our bulk shifts are from 9:30pm - 8am. We have 3 bulk-trained team members (including myself). Two of them work Sun-Wed and I work Tues-Fri. Saturday nights are an issue because no one else at our store wants to be trained in on bulk (people in my store generally would rather, and sometimes have, quit than learn bulk), so the team leads just end up sticking a random person there and hoping for the best...usually someone with little to no equipment training or it all just gets left for Sunday night. Only one of us does bulk on any given night unless we need help (and even then we rarely get any). An average truck of ours will have 15-25 bulk pallets (including the non-con pet/sugar/flour/floor mats/charcoal pallets). On two truck nights that number climbs to 35-45 pallets. The bulk person works the pallets out and backstocks them in the racking. No flow or other backroom person touches the pallets. We also backstock the paper and diaper backstock pallets, but do not do the receiving pulls for the backroom team. To give a little background on our store, it is what our STL calls a very space confined super freaky high-A volume store. Our small trucks are around 2100 pieces and our large trucks are close to 3000 pieces. We do have a Y-track for a simultaneous double unload when we do get those.

As far as the unload goes, our bulk team members clear out receiving and set up the line in the 30 minutes we are given before the rest of the team gets there for the unload. We move out all soda pallets, miscellaneous receiving pallets, clearance and pull carts to set up for the truck. Most of the time there are two of us on the backside of the line. Average backstock is about 600+ cartons. We normally hit our goal of 30 cartons a minute on our unload process.

After the unload, all push and backstock pallets are cleared out and we bring all the receiving stuff (soda/carts/pallets, etc.) back in. After that, we work out the pallets and backstock our leftovers. We rarely have more then 10 open pallets spaces in our entire backroom/receiving area at any one time. There's a lot of on the spot condensing that has to go on to make what we get in fit. We also have no outside storage containers or off-site available for bulk, so space management becomes a major priority through the night. When we get done we are expected to help the backroom finish up their workload.
