Hi guys! Im new and enjoy coming here to read threads. This page is awesome! I had a question. If I was to get the receiving job that might open soon how much more do you get? I have heard from $.50 to .$75 to a dollar but since im already over $10 in a little bit over 2 years would i only get .50 cents or .75 cents? Does it vary by state? Region? Thank you guys!

Thank you for the reply Nauzhror!
Thank you Commiecorvus!

If your coming from backroom (n07) its $.50 to receiving/signing. Atleast in my district.

It was definitely 50 cents in my previous district. Doesn't seem like much considering how much extra training you have to go through 😛

At my store they just changed the time from 7 to 8 and its not 40 hours set but if you are backroom trained you can always get brought in from 6-8 to pull autos or help flow push pulls. But you cant beat weekends off. Thats rare in retail. Thought it would be more like .75 cents but permanent schedule weekends off, you cant beat that!

6am-2:30pm at my store. A lot of our vendors come in before 8.

Receiving positions don't open up very often in my district and when they do they usually are highly sought after.

I've always wondered what a receiving TM actually does. Any receiving TMs on here that can tell me what your workload usually consists of?

They are the gate keepers making sure that vendors keep their shit where they are supposed to and only bring what they are supposed to.

First, the receiving position is not guaranteed 40 but the workload always demands at least that.

My current stores dock is open 6a-12p Monday through Saturday but the location I was the primary receiver was 8a-12p M-F And I'll detail the routine I had there because it's probably more common for every other store.

To pick up hours, I helped flow before the dock opened, so on MWF I came in at 5:30a to prep and throw the truck. I also backstocked all the bulk (pipo paper, diapers, sterilite plastic, transition/stage)

Monday:
Truck (RDC,C&S)
Clean off a weekends' worth of GSD drop offs
Backstock
Baler duty
Vendors
Finish and ship MIRs
Check in DTS

Tuesday:
Start and pull MIRs
Vendors
Defectives and ESIM processing
Empty NOF bin
Check in DTS
Prepare salvage pallet for Wednesday pickup

Wednesday:
Truck (RDC,C&S)
Backstock
Baler duty
Pick and load sweep
Vendors (Wednesday was the heaviest day)
Donations (Food, pets and salvage all came Wednesdays)
Check in DTS

Thursday:
(slowest day for vendors)
Work on MIRs
Vendors
Defectives and ESIM processing
Check in DTS

Friday:
Truck (RDC,C&S)
Backstock
Baler duty
Vendors
Finish MIRs
Check in DTS
Come clean on defectives

I don't know the typical number of vendors but it seemed like we had a bunch for such a small store:
C&S, McLane, Milk, Frito, Coke, Pepsi, 7Up, Mike Sells, Snyder, Lance, Nestle, Digiorno, Blue Bell, Flowers, Sara Lee, Mission, RBI Bev, Barcel, Schwans, Nabisco, Kellogg's, Pepperidge Farm, Little Debbie, Icee, Excell, American Greetings, 4 wine vendors, 3 liquor vendors, and 4 beer vendors.
