Back in college, my friends and I lived on the side of the dormitory facing a major highway. We used to raid the local stores bins of AOL CDs and tape them shiny-side out against the walls. At night we would have a ghetto disco effect with the car headlights bouncing off the reflective side of the discs.

LOVE the globe. Way cool.

My sister hung some from her trees out front during Christmas. The shiny side would catch the light & they'd flicker like mad as they twirled around.
Low tech with cool effect.
