New ETL coming on soon and I have some questions about health benefits. In the informational materials I was sent from HR, I see Target offers a HRA or HSA. I am not familiar with these options b/c in the past I've had PPO or HMO. So for example, with my current PPO I pay $20 co-pay for specialists and that covers everything for a routine visit. Does either the HRA or HSA offer a similar co-pay option? Or will I be paying the full cost of my specialist appt (whatever amount that comes to) up until I reach for $950 deductible for the HRA?

Check out the thread under "pay & benefits" re: HMOs/PPOs.
(haven't mastered links yet).
This is in regard to TMs/TLs so it may not be applicable to ETLs.

Checked that thread out already and nothing in there applies to my question, so figured I would try posting. Also, nothing in the HR manual explains the benefits in detail.

Routine care is covered; specialist & non-routine visits you'll pay a copay for. Unsure if those go toward your deductible/out-of-pocket or not. Specialist copays last yr were $55. Otherwise, you might call Target benefits Center at 800-828-5850.
Again, this is info for TL/TMs as compared to ETLs.

I had the PPO but I'm going with the HRA. There is just too much of a differnce between the out of pocket maxes. I have kids who have had health problems. It sucks because the difference is $60 a month between the PPO and the HRA. No way I'm getting a $60 a month raise. Between the new Social security tax and the HRA premium i'm taking a $100/month paycut. Seriously thinking about beginning to look elsewhere but wondering if health plans in general suck right now. I do have other skills and can go outside of retail. I have stayed for a variety of reasons but really...

this might answer your question. contact tmsc for more details.

Thanks for the response redeye. Guess I'll contact tmsc for more info when I come aboard

can't speak for the ETLs but on the non-exempt level you will be paying the full cost of care. target will provide base funds of $500 (250 or 300, then you "earn" the rest by completing a health survey and entering biometric screening numbers). So, essentially you pay nothing UNTIL you spend $500, then you will pay the full cost until you reach whatever your deductible amount is (varies by plan). also - you do have the option to add to the healthcare funds per pay period as well if you like. for the HRA i think you have to open up a FSA to save your pre-tax dollars towards your account, and for the HSA you can pay into that same account that target starts for you.

i do not know how this affects the prescription copays and whatnot though, didn't pay close attention since i didn't have any ongoing scripts at the time of enrollment.

in the past if you had the ppo it was :
$0 preventative care
$35 regular visit
$55 specialist visit
