I get paid 11.82/hr as a signing specialist. New electronic TM get paid $11 starting. I've been with target for 5yrs. Is there something wrong with this that I can fix or am I stuck?

I'm also cross-trained everywhere in the store (sbux, backroom, Cashier, guest service, electronic, market, etc.) And they make me extra (open starbucks, cover gstl lunches, etc.)

I starting to feel not motivated for what im getting paid compared to newer TM's.....

You make almost a dollar more than I do. After an equal time. My new tm are coming in fifty cents below my pay. You get shit, and they don't care.

Find out what everyone is making and go to the boss with a list.
Tell them that you deserve a raise and point to the list of other people who have been there less time with less experience who make almost as much as you.
Get everyone in the store to share how much they make.
The ETLs can't stop you.

I tried that when I got my last merit raise. All I got in return was the threat of termination if I told people what I make...they don't care at my store.

You can go to the labor board with that.
There is supposed to be a sign posted in the break area that says they can't threaten you like that.
Hey, @Hardlinesmaster do you know where that notice is?
I can't find it.

I don't have a sign saying that.

Telling people not to discuss their pay is considered prohibiting unionizing activites, which is illegal.

Good news! The new handbook specifically states that employees are free to discuss their pay. It's somewhat written in legalese, I'm sure it's the result of some lawsuit.

If your actual position is a higher pay grade than "new electronics TM" then your pay should've increased somewhat (base pay + .50 or whatever your position is). Merit/earned pay increases get overwritten by base pay hikes.

Thanks HL.

I thought I remembered a notice that Spot had to post in the break room a while back that was basically was the labor departments statement.
Of course it didn't stay up for very long.

The interesting thing about that last sentence is that my merit raises didn't get chewed up in our recent base pay hike. We went from $9 base pay to $10.50, and my merit raise kept up with the base pay increase. So I'm not sure if it's just because my merit increase was just in the last year or what.
