I was hired two weeks ago as a seasonal cashier. I had to call off three days in a row this week due to a severe stomach illness. I went to my dr and he advised me to stay home these days and I have a note from him stating when I can go back to work. He doesn't think it was a stomach virus, he wants to me to go to a specialist for further testing. I had really wanted this to be a permanent job eventually. What do you think the odds of that happening are now? I don't go back to work til Friday.

Also, when I applied I told all my interviewers that 20 hrs a week was the max I could work. I am disabled, there is no way around that. I am scheduled for 35 hrs next week. How do I approach HR about this?

Thanks for any input.

If you started calling out this early in your 90 days and you have to challenge your schedule the chances of them keeping you on are virtually nill, sorry to say.

As to challenging your schedule you need to go to the HR-ETL right away and find out how you are entered into the system.
Make sure it is indeed at only 20 hours and if that's not the case do the best you can to work something out for this schedule.
If it is then they made mistake and have to fix it.

Thank you for your very informative answer. I will talk to my ETL-HR before I start my next shift.
