My two weeks is going in tomorrow.

After 5 years with Target, I’m finally moving on. I’ve got a gig with a local grocer and will be the closing person in charge. The hours aren’t the most exciting, but the pay is a bit higher and I’m happy to get out of my store. Between waking up dreading going into work, to spending 2 1/2-3 hrs in my car everyday, to having a parrot for a boss, I can’t do it anymore. I don’t want to work somewhere I’m not happy.

Target has lead to a lot of personal growth for me as well as helped me grow in terms of my career. I started as a shy 19 year old kid in headlines and have moved around a lot within Target, ending up as a Food TL for the past year and a half. I used to love my job, but payroll and leadership expectations have made me hate it.

I’ve made a lot of friends at Target that I think I’ll keep for years. It’s hard leaving but I’m glad I’m doing it.

Time to run screaming into the night.
Fair farin' & don't look back.
