Hello all! I'm seasonal but would like to stay on after the holidays. The other day they called me and asked if I could come in early for my shift and I agreed and went in a couple hours early. It was very busy and after awhile I started thinking it should be about time for lunch but the LOD didn't tell me to go, so I figured they were counting from the time I was scheduled to come in and waited. You guessed it-non-compliance.
Will this ruin my chances to maybe stay on after my 90 days?

Depends on your store. At ours the first time is a write up and a scolding and they work on a "three strikes and you're out" concept. When I first started working at mine I was told that if I worked so many hours I was required to take a meal break. What they failed to tell me was that it had to be within the limit of those hours. Maybe it should have been obvious but it was only my second job and the first dealing with the whole compliance issue. Just be very conscious of your time going forward. Whatever your requirements are in your state make sure you meet them from the time you clock in. It's that part that matters and not when you were actually scheduled. Good luck! 🙂

I hit compliance once because I came in early too lmao But that was because there was a miscommunication about the time I was supposed to come in/get out and there was a 15 minute difference so I hit it. I made it past my 90 though. It doesn't completely ruin your chances. If you see you're close to hitting your 5th, tell someone. Sometimes it's so busy they tend to forget to tell you to go (well, at the registers anyways) and you need to remind them.

The lod said it was his fault cause he forgot I came in early, but I should have paid attention

I wouldn't worry about it . Just don't make it a habit and you should be fine . Just keep an eye on the clock from now on.
