Anyone heard of some stores changing plano to be Sun-Thurs? How about pricing? Anything else this company can do to destroy peoples life/work balance? I understand, it's retail, but these jobs are much easier done during the week when it is not as busy.

I haven't heard anything about this yet. Only changes happening at my store is that truck unload will be at 4am instead of 3am. If they do move Pricing to Sunday at my store, then it will be very difficult for me since I also do Ad Set + Endcap Audits. Guess LODs will have to go back to doing the Endcaps and not be so damn lazy.

Greetings and salutations.
I haven't heard anything about such a plan but wouldn't be too surprised.
They often use small areas to test out changes like that before they roll them out for the company as a whole.

The lod's are lazy with the endcap audit and especially the new price audit they pawn it off on the team leads!

Not a fan of it, but I can see some benefits. They'll probably have presentation do sections that are going to be ad heavy on sunday so they can hang ad after they set them, meaning that less ads will be lost or destroyed from setting a pog after ad's already hung. It's a rather minor benefit though. I imagine a lot of the Presentation people won't be particularly enthused. It's bad enough that they ended the 4 a.m. shifts in this area to get out of the diff. pay.

When I worked for Target, in both stores I worked in Plano was always Sunday-Thursday 10p-6:30a AND Price Change was always Monday-Friday 6a-2:30p.

At my store, our plano/pricing TL and our signing specialist already work alternating weekends. However, I haven't heard anything about our days changing.

M-F here. Su-Thurs woudn't be bad as long as it was those days in a row. when we're overnight we always work Su-Thurs and it works out alright. i just need two days off in a row. the amount of physical work (and the laps i get across the store) just wreaks havoc on my body and my reload/refresh time needs to be consistent.

Just think of the benefits though! There's a much larger ad set team now, and you know that's what would happen.

not just no... heck no. i got stuck with every single ad set up from oct-jan. every sunday. with brand new ppl who couldn't for the life of them understand how to fold a sign, much less that it actually needed to match the product they put it with. then the endcap audits/ad audit. i never want to see another ad set again. on the other hand, as long as i don't have to touch the ad, sunday is the least busiest day of the week at my store. with no guests and no truck, it'll make things a lot easier. i'll trade it for a fri/sat.
the only thing about s-thurs--what about tm who have religious obligations? one of my tm's is a pastor's wife. another teaches sunday school. their churches only meet on sundays at 10 or 11am. can target require them to be there every single sunday?

At my store plano works weekends. I'm pretty sure we have plano people everyday of the week, some days it's just two people. Working on Saturdays isn't too bad. Sundays are terrible, after the store opens we constantly get bothered by guests. Especially the ones that insist that you walk them over to the kleenex aisle or shoe department. Plano does not help with Ad.

ugh, one day i was at another store (relatively high volume) and they had one single person setting a POG of cosmetics by themselves. the aisle was bombed out, and the person was getting slammed with guests. i don't see how that decision made sense in any way shape, or form. you couldn't shop the aisle, the TM couldn't get any work done - it didn't make any sense.

:sorry:

That's so sad. :sorry:

And that's why pog is usually overnight.... Silly corporate.

I would love to go overnights for plano! We come in at 4 am mon-fri right now. I hate the 7:45 am rush to get everything cleaned up with a half set/filled back pog. I always volunteer to come in and work overnights when we get the chance.

Now that you mention it... Planogram team had always been M-F at my store, 3 am to at least 11:30 am unless a really big project had to be done. I noticed on the most recent schedules, they were working on Sundays now. I have no idea about Friday. o_O

That last part about the LOD's made me laugh.

I work at an ULV store and just today we were told we can work 11-7:30p Plano or 8:30-11 truck and Plano from 11-5p. This is difficult cause I am so used to working 6-2:30p. Initially We were told would hours be changing to 7-3:30p but now changed again. With heavy work loads being done on non truck days. It is difficult because we have such lack of accountability at our store. Flow team is slow and don't care. Leads are lazy and don't want to confront anyone for slacking off. With summer coming not liking my options. Need 32 hours to keep insurance but worried about changing availability

I'd much prefer 830-5 over 11-730. That's just me though.

I'd personally love 8:30-5:00 but plano would never get anything done during big sets because of traffic, and we're a low volume store, so I'd hate to think what happens in a high-volume store. I could even deal with a different work week if it meant I could have a weekday off without resorting to the crappy SDO.
