Does anyone else think it would be worthwhile to have a private forum on here for management? Not to try and hide anything from regular posters but some information shouldn't always be shared with the masses yet but should be shared with peers so to speak.

I can see your reasoning, but how could the forum staff prove that anyone is or isn't part of a store management team?

Not sure, doesn't even have to be that even. Just a place people could discuss issues going or coming soon without creating fires over the board, etc.

What would need to be discussed on this 'Private Forum' that would already be something we don't talk about out in the general forums? If anything we could make it a forum that you can only see when you're logged in and registered. But there is absolutely no way for us to prove anyone is who really who they say they are.

I don't think there are any topics that are in need of being privatized. The only things we really can't talk about are AP Directives and Interview Questions as both have got me into some legal issues with my domain proxy being requested to provide my information to the Big T, otherwise everything else has been fair game. Freedom of speech as long as it isn't intellectual property!

Part of the problem with Spot is a lack of transparency which is why I like this site.
I appreciate the openness of the management folks that post here, even when I disagree with them.
The firestorm you speak comes out of attitudes that come out of Spot.
Most of us will try to be polite in our positions and I'm sure the mods are able to handle anything that gets out of hand.

Such openess kept me from being blindsided during AE changes. I don't think I would've been able to keep my job had I not been able to prepare myself. This also, for me, has been a continuing education of sorts & helps me stay up-to-date as well as being proactive on changes with which I may not necessarily agree.

Well since you brought up AE changes I guess I will go ahead and post, I just did not want it to crowd the front page or people from my store see it and identify me.

Current 'rumor' - There was going to be a couple more changes in headcount this year in org charts 1 and 2. The reduction was going to happen in hardlines (with consumables picking up additional areas) and combining plano and pricing therefore reducing TL headcount by 2. After feedback they have decided to make this change to org chart 1 only and have it roll out with AE12, again org chart 2 won't be adjusted in the current plans and it won't happen this year as originally planned. They say it's to provide more resources for the teams (using the former TL hours for a TM) to try and put a positive spin on it.

That is correct. Our tl count has been reduced by 3 tl's. Right now, I am lucky to have my job. My scores are good. But, other tl's aren't so lucky at my store. Mind you, We do over 30 million a year.

Already seeing the reduction process going on at our store and everyone is walking on glass with bare feet.

I can confirm this...somebody left a print out with charts outlining exactly what you said...which is why i'm guessing rumor is in quotation marks.

I don't get it... AE is just corps annual demoralizer, I have yet to see one that makes sense... although they do make cents!!

Sorry, lame joke I know!

Losing specialists was the worse one.

I was not yet with Target in the days of specialists, but my store must've been hit pretty hard by it. We have a lot of guests who complain that the Electronics TMs don't know anything about electronics and that we don't have anyone to help them in Jewelry.
